From June 23 to 26, the 34th International Congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES 2026) was held in Athens, Greece.As Europe’s most influential minimally invasive surgery (MIS) congress, this year’s meeting adopted the theme “From Hippocrates to Modern Surgical Innovation,” gathering nearly 2,000 endoscopic experts, clinicians, and industry leaders.
Edge Medical presented its independently developed Edge Medical® Single-Port Endoscopic Surgical Robot at the congress, drawing strong attention from surgeons worldwide with its original, breakthrough technologies.Numerous domestic and international clinicians and industry partners visited the booth for hands-on test drives and in-depth technical exchanges.
As the only Chinese-brand single-port surgical robot exhibiting at the congress, this debut not only showcased the innovative strength of China’s high-end medical equipment to the world, but also built a bridge linking domestic surgical robots with world-leading clinical resources and overseas channels.
Cutting-Edge Technological Innovation
Single-Arm, Single-Port: The Frontier of Ultra-Minimally Invasive Surgery

EAES has more than 3,500 members from 110 countries. As Europe’s official authoritative surgical academic platform, the entry threshold for exhibiting medical devices is widely recognized as the most stringent in the industry.
This year’s congress brought together nearly 2,000 leading minimally invasive surgery (MIS) experts, clinicians, and industry pioneers worldwide, conducting in-depth academic discussions and technical exchanges on robotic surgery, AI-enabled surgery, and telemedicine.
The single-port surgical robot represents the recognized cutting-edge direction of minimally invasive surgery. With smaller trauma and faster postoperative recovery, it has become the future technology track that global MIS clinical practice and industry are jointly focused on. With high R&D and commercialization barriers, it attracts strong attention from surgeons and medical innovators worldwide.
The Edge Medical single-port endoscopic surgical robot featured at EAES was the only Chinese-brand single-port surgical robot in the entire exhibition hall. Backed by a series of breakthrough proprietary technologies and the EU CE Mark obtained in October 2025, it took center stage at Europe’s premier MIS academic platform, drawing strong interest from international experts.
This system is also China’s first approved single-arm, single-port surgical robot, with overall performance reaching a globally leading level:
It adopts an innovative single-arm, single-port design in which all instruments — including three surgical instruments and one 3D endoscope — enter the patient’s body through a single trocar, enabling complex procedures to be completed through just one incision and delivering the ultimate ultra-minimally invasive experience of “one port, full operation”;
Compared with similar international products, it is smaller, lighter, and requires less operating-room space, providing greater reach for lesion management;
The next-generation SuperArm instrument series, specifically designed for confined-space surgery, offers superior flexibility and load capacity, performing exceptionally in both conventional-port and natural-orifice transluminal procedures;
More than 3,000 clinical procedures have been performed across gynecology, urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, head and neck surgery, and breast surgery, fully validating the system’s broad clinical adaptability and stable, reliable performance.
The system has been approved for indications in gynecology, urology, general surgery, and thoracic surgery — making it the first Chinese single-port endoscopic surgical robot to achieve full coverage of the four core surgical specialties.
Praise from European Experts
Live Test-Drive Experience a Major Hit

Leveraging EAES — Europe’s MIS industry bellwether — Edge Medical demonstrated the technological advantages and clinical value of China-made high-end surgical robots in a comprehensive manner.
During the congress, the Edge Medical booth became one of the most popular destinations at the venue. Senior European surgeons test-drove the Edge Medical single-port surgical robot and highly praised its flexible maneuverability in confined spaces, precision, and immersive imaging;
At the same time, in-depth discussions were held on clinical applications across general surgery, urology, gynecology, and thoracic surgery, laying a solid foundation for future deep clinical collaboration and regional commercialization.
A Medical Dialogue Across Two Millennia
China’s Smart Manufacturing Empowering Global Minimally Invasive Healthcare
From the medical ideals of Hippocrates to today’s era of medical innovation led by AI and robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery has continued to advance toward greater precision, less invasiveness, and enhanced safety.
EAES 2026 brought together the global surgical community to jointly explore the path of modern surgical innovation.
Edge Medical’s showcase of its China-originated single-port surgical robot is not only a tribute to the Hippocratic spirit of “benevolence,” but also a powerful demonstration that minimally invasive surgery has stepped from large-incision open procedures into a brand-new era of “single-arm, single-port, ultra-minimally invasive” surgery.
This exhibition not only showcased the innovative strength of China’s high-end medical equipment to the world, but also built a bridge linking domestic surgical robots with world-leading clinical resources and overseas distribution channels.
Looking ahead, Edge Medical will continue to adhere to its independent R&D and innovation roadmap. Leveraging its mature product portfolio and comprehensive global access footprint, the company will continue to bring domestic surgical robots to the global stage, empowering the development of minimally invasive healthcare worldwide with China-originated surgical technology — and delivering higher-quality, more accessible MIS solutions to patients around the world.
