On October 16–17, the 3rd SGH Urology Robotic Surgery Masterclass was held in Singapore. As a key part of SGH Urology Week 2026, the congress gathered world-leading experts in urology. During the event, Edge Medical®, together with its Singapore partner, hosted a dedicated session—“Expanding the Multi-Port Boundary: Exploring the Role of the Single-Port Robot in Urology”—giving international experts a full view of Edge Medical®'s platform-based innovations in high-end surgical robotics.
Frontier Sharing
Straight to Single-Port Urology in Clinical Practice

The session specially invited Prof. Yang Cheng, Vice President of the Gaoxin Campus of The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and a urology expert, as an online speaker. Drawing on rich clinical experience, Prof. Yang delivered an engaging academic talk titled “Application of the Single-Port Surgical Robot in Urology.”
Prof. Yang noted that the prevalence of urological tumors has risen year by year, with a trend toward younger onset, and patients now demand more from minimally invasive surgery in terms of trauma, recovery speed and cosmetic outcome. With its three core advantages—less trauma, faster recovery and better cosmesis—the single-port robotic approach shows significant clinical value when treating tumors 2 to 6 cm in size.
On the clinical-application front, Prof. Yang presented detailed outcomes to international peers based on his hospital's extensive experience with the Edge Medical single-port surgical robot. As of October 7, 2026, the hospital had completed over 420 single-port urological procedures, spanning complex operations across radical prostatectomy, cystectomy, nephrectomy and adrenalectomy, and shared valuable hands-on experience and techniques on classic procedures such as radical prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy—powerfully demonstrating the single-port robot's broad procedure coverage and high clinical maturity in urology. Its tangible minimally invasive benefits and broad prospects sparked warm discussion and strong endorsement from international experts on site.
One Platform, Multiple Roles
MSP2000 Unlocks Diverse Clinical Scenarios
At the event, Edge Medical's Asia-Pacific market representative gave experts a full picture of the company's history and global footprint, spotlighting the world-first Edge Medical® MSP2000 integrated multi/single-port surgical robot super system and demonstrating the company's strong platform-innovation capability.
The MSP2000 achieves a system-level fusion of multi-port and single-port technologies: it delivers the mature strengths of multi-port robots—broad applicability and rich procedure options—while perfectly integrating the frontier strengths of single-port robots—ultra-minimally invasive surgery, elegant incisions and rapid recovery. The platform also offers strong extensibility and can be equipped with the Edge Medical tele-robotic surgery system, breaking geographic limits and elevating the potential of surgical robotics to a new height.

Beyond the theory of a frontier system, an Edge Medical multi-port robot test-drive was staged on site so experts could feel, hands-on, the appeal of Chinese smart manufacturing. In practice, they experienced the robot's precise, nimble handling and gave it high praise. In discussion, many experts said Edge Medical's groundbreaking technical breakthroughs and innovative product ecosystem comprehensively cover diverse clinical scenarios and redefine the boundaries of minimally invasive surgery, making it an ideal platform for pushing surgical technology toward both widespread adoption and the cutting edge—with its strong capabilities winning growing attention and recognition across the Asia-Pacific market.
